The Day She Stopped Comparing

The Day She Stopped Comparing

You open social media and see someone celebrating a new job.

Then someone gets married.

Someone buys a car.

Someone travels.

Someone launches a business.

And suddenly, you look at your own life and wonder:

“Am I behind?”

The problem is that we often compare our ordinary, everyday lives with other people's highlights.
WE COMPARE OUR LIVES TO THE HIGHLIGHT OF OTHERS.
We see the announcement but not the years of preparation.
We see the celebration but not the struggles that came before it.
We see the result without seeing the process.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't admire other people's achievements. We can celebrate someone else's progress without turning it into evidence that we are failing.

Sometimes, we simply need to look at our own journey.

Maybe you have learned something new.
you've survived a difficult period.
Maybe you've started something you've always wanted to try.
Maybe you're simply further than you were a year ago.

IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE YOUR PROGRESS, EVEN THE LITTLE ONES.
Progress doesn't always look impressive from the outside.

And life doesn't come with one universal timetable.

Someone else's chapter can be beautiful without making yours less valuable.
